What you pay for

What is a test step?

A step is a single action Testral's AI QA Engineer runs on the device — a tap, a text entry, an assertion, or launching an app. When a test runs, each executed action consumes one step from your monthly quota.

  • One executed line = one step, whether it passes or fails.
  • AI vision, element location, and verification are included in every step — no extra charge.
  • Comments (#) and blank lines are free — they never touch your quota.
  • Steps skipped after a failure aren't counted.
When the month isn’t enough

What if I run out of tokens?

Each plan includes a monthly quota of executed steps (your tokens). When that quota is used up, new runs pause until you add more capacity — you don’t have to wait for the next billing period.

Buy on-demand steps

Top up anytime at $0.06 per step, sold in packs of 500 ($30). Unused on-demand steps stay on your account until you use them — they don’t expire with the monthly reset.

  • Buy from Settings → Subscription in the desktop app.
  • Ideal when a big suite or scheduled plan needs more steps this month.

Or upgrade one tier

If you hit the ceiling regularly, move up a plan for a larger monthly quota (and, on Pro and above, cloud devices and integrations). You can upgrade from the same Subscription screen.

  • On-demand is for spikes; upgrading is better for ongoing volume.
